Today's Mama Monday is about lunch. Very easy for us these days, although we've expanded what Jackson has been eating recently. Yes, we are still making almost all of his food - why almost? Well, he's now eating crackers and puffs (food that he can chew but that also melts away in his mouth). While I love to cook and bake, I can't compete with Ritz and Gerber on this front!!!
So, what's a typical lunch time meal for our 8 month old? 2 veggies (squash, green beans, sweet potatoes, peas, carrots) and a fruit (apple, banana, peaches, pears), as well as a few puffs or a cracker. Jackson is now eating mashed foods as well as pureed foods. This means making his food will be getting easier - instead of putting everything in the blender, now some things can just be chopped up well or mashed. Very soon he'll be eating (very soft) diced and cooked veggies. It's so fun seeing him eat new things :D We are also about to introduce meats to him, so lunch will soon include some chicken. To check out what other people are putting for their kiddies lunches (more interesting than what little Jackson eats) on Mama Monday, see Erin's site.
Next are some pics that are new, but actually old b/c they are from Christmas. Why have we been holding out you ask...because my bro took the pics and has been hoarding them ever since. However, since he was here yesterday, I finally got the pics. I edited a few of them tonight and here they are. It's already so wild to see Jackson as young as he is in these pics (you know, that whole 5 months has passes since they were taken, lol). Take a trip down memory lane with us:
Aunt Joey, Wes, me and J, and Uncle Noel (aka The Godfather)
In front of the Christmas tree
This was the first time Jackson sat in his rocking chair...I think he liked it, don't you?
Staring at the tree
Here are some pics of J in his Christening gown, which has been passed down for over 60 years in our family. Is there anything cuter than a baby in a basket? Especially one dressed in white - my little angel!!!
Looking at his face, I can see so many changes. I loved getting these pics, and I can't wait to see what he looks like in another 5 months :D

What is it about brothers hoarding photos. I am STILL waiting on my brother to send me some photos taken at his wedding in Japan!! I don't want to print my album until I have them. 8 months later!!
He is growing so fast!
