Happy Halloween

Today Jackson is four weeks old! He is growing so fast, Wes and I can't believe it. He's the most precious thing, even when he's fussy :-) Everything's going well here. I'm beginning to get a little stir crazy, but we're about to start taking some day trips with the little one. I'm still amazed at how much stuff you have to pack to go anywhere with someone so little, lol. Here's a few pictures of Jackson in his Halloween gear :-)

Doctor's Visit

Today we went to the doctor for Jackson's 2 wk checkup (he'll be 3 weeks tomorrow). They were really happy with him!! He has gained a ton of weight in the 15 days since we were there last. 1 lb and 8 oz to be exact. He now weighs 8 lb and 9 oz (he was 6 15 when we left the hospital). So he's 30th percentile on weight and 50th on height (he's 21 1/4 inches now). Everything seems to be perfect except the doctor agreed his little screaming spells are probably colic. The good news about that is it doesn't last forever, just until about 3-4 months. The bad news he gave us is it will probably get worse before it gets better. We can deal with the screaming, we're just glad he's healthy. After working at Children's, I now know exactly how blessed we are to have a perfect little one :-) Jackson is starting to smile, but it's mainly in his sleep right now, and he's cooing - it's so cute. He's already changing and growing so much so fast!!! My big news for the day was that I left the house in real (not maternity) clothes - woo hoo!! Although I must admit, maternity clothes were really comfortable and I will miss the elastic waist band, it was nice wear pants with a zipper again, lol.

Oh So Close

Although Wes doesn't want to talk about it, what a game! I hate that we lost on a last second pass!!! But I thought we played pretty well, especially to be in Baton Rouge for a night game. Thought the "Bama rejects" comments from the student section were uncalled for, but I guess that's a lot better than what they yelled to Tim Tebow last week. We hope Uncle Noel and Aunt Joanna had fun. It has been a crazy season in the SEC! This was Jackson's 3rd game day :-) Next week we will be taking the little one for his first trip to the Plains. We aren't taking him to the game, but we'll just be down there tailgating for the day. Here's a couple of pictures that we took Saturday of the little man in his AU gear. We went through three different AU outfits over the course of the day. I knew little boys liked to pee when exposed, but it happens even more often that I thought it would, lol.

Touchdown Tigers!!! Jackson was cheering for the Tigers while he slept.

Here We Go!

So, here we go with the blog thing. We thought this would be a good way to keep everyone, far and near, updated with our lives, but mainly with Jackson! Jackson is 15 days old today, and at the moment, he is peacefully sleeping :-) He's been a really good baby so far, only really fussy when he has gas pains or when he's fighting off sleep (wonder where he gets that??). He hasn't gotten on any sort of schedule yet, but we haven't even bothered with it either. I think you just have to go with the flow when they're this little. Having the c-section threw a kink in the plans since his bedroom is upstairs. He's been living in our bedroom, and he'll stay there for one more week. I feel back to my old self again, and look like it, too. It took about a week for the swelling to go away, but I finally don't look like the lady that ate Heather. It's been hard trying not to overdo it, since I am feeling so good. But Wes has been watching me like a hawk. One more week and most of the restrictions they put on you after c-section are lifted- can't wait!! It's been great having both Wes and myself home to take care of Jackson. Of course, it's also been great to have all the family come over the past 2 weeks. Thanks to everyone for their help!!! Thanks again to Uncle Noel for taking the pics. Lots of the following are ones that he did. Enjoy :-)
